DO-CMS is designed to run on the following platform stacks:

  • Operating System: Linux-based server or Windows Server 2003 or higher
  • Web Server: Apache 2.0 or IIS 7.0 or higher
  • Database System: MySQL 4.0 or SQL Server 2005 or higher
  • Programming/Scripting Language: PHP 5.0 or ASP .NET 3.5 or higher

DO-CMS is designed to run on any standard web server be it a shared hosting service, a virtual private server, or a dedicated one. Although highly dependent on expected web traffic, we recommend the minimum specifications below:

  • 256 RAM
  • 20 GB Hard disk Space
  • At least 1 Mbps Internet Connection and/or 1 GB Monthly allocated bandwidth.

DO-CMS Standard Features:

Web-based, Real-time Page Editing: DO-CMS offers a very intuitive outline view of all the web pages available in the website where the user can easily move the pages around and post/unpost them.

Clicking on a page will bring up the main page editor where you are offered a graphical text editor similar to popular word processing software. The user can upload images, embedded video/flash, and text as well as copy-paste formatted content from MS Word or other word processing software. More advanced users can directly edit the HTML source code of the page. Finally, the user can also provide metadata such as page titles, keywords and descriptions that are vital for Search Engine Optimization.

Theme Selection/Editing: DO-CMS supports multiple website themes and layouts, thus allowing the end user to easily change the desired layout of the front end website via a press of a button.

CSS and Source Code Editors: Advanced users are given the option of editing and creating new back end source code and edit the CSS style sheets from within the CMS.

Calendar of Events: DO-CMS offers as a standard feature a powerful Calendar Engine for managing events and news announcements. Events can be categorized and defined either as a single occurrence or a repeating event. The front end can be displayed as an actual calendar with the months, days and weeks clickable or as a newsfeed with RSS support.

Membership Engine: The DO-CMS membership engine allows for the website owner to limit the viewing of specific web pages to registered users only. Membership application can either be automatic via a registration page or admin-controlled via the backend. Members can be grouped for further filtering of access levels.

Newsletter Engine: In conjunction with the member’s module is the ability to send HTML-formatted newsletters to registered members for the CMS. Simple reports on who viewed, read or clicked on links in the newsletter are provided.

Photo/Product/Media Gallery Module: This module allows the CMS user to upload photos, videos, and or other media and provide descriptive text for the uploaded files for display on the front-end. The module can be setup to provide watermarks for uploaded images as well as auto-resized images to web-friendly sizes.

File Manager: The file manager provides a finer mode of control in uploading any type of file to the website for linking via the various web pages.

Web-based Forms Manager: DO-CMS stores on-line inquiries from web based forms such as the typical ‘Contact Us’ Page. This also allows the CMS admin to reply to the inquiries via the CMS to maintain a thread of the conversation with on-line visitors.

Website Search Engine: All the web pages and other content provided via the CMS are indexed to allow for full text searching via the front end. Reports on the most popular search strings can be created and shown in the backend CMS.

Clean URLs: DO-CMS supports ‘clean urls’ hiding the fact that the web pages were dynamically created. For example instead of getting a web page called yourdomain.com/index.php?id=1212&cat=2323 you get a page formatted as yourdomain.com/aboutus. This provides better search engine ranking and click through as well as provide better security by hiding how the pages process information.

Sitemap/RSS Generator: DO-CMS allows for the generation of human-readable sitemaps as well as search engine sitemaps compliant with http://www.sitemaps.org/protocol.php used by Google, Yahoo and Microsoft Corporation. The system can also generate RSS 2.0 compliant news feeds for specific website sections or the whole website.

Multiple User and Access Levels: DO-CMS comes with a superuser module that allows for the creation of multiple CMS users with varying access levels. For example, users can be assigned to only edit a specific section of the site while another user can only edit but not post website content. User Audit trails are also reported via this module.

Optional/Customized Modules:

One key feature of DO-CMS is its ability to be easily customized. Be it additional modules or modifications on the standard suite of features, EACOMM can easily tackle any type of customization having designed and developed the system completely in-house. Some modifications and additional modules we’ve done in the past include:

  • On-line surveys or polls
  • Forums/Message Boards
